The Bridge Presents: Beyond Borders 2019 Benefit Concert

Have you ever felt deeply and emotionally moved by the message behind a music performance? A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to be the official photographer for the Beyond Borders Benefit Concert at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. It was hosted by The Bridge, which is an organization that supports people who were affected by natural disasters in Japan. As a person of Japanese descent, it was very heartwarming to be able to photograph an event that I had such close personal ties to in my life.

The Bridge consists of professional musicians from Korea and Japan. They have held various benefit concerts throughout Japan ever since last year. Through their charity concerts, they hope to encourage people who are still in the process of recovering from the devastated areas by offering financial support. They also aim to use music to build a friendship between Korea, Japan, and the United States that goes beyond borders.

For this benefit concert in Los Angeles, they partnered up with LinkLA, which is a group of music lovers that help artists and musicians connect with the Japanese community here in Southern California. Here are the featured artists for the concert. (Japanese below)

演奏された音楽に込められたメッセージに、今迄深く感動したことがあるでしょうか。先日レドンドビーチパフォーミングアートセンターで行われたビヨンドボーダーベネフィットコンサートの正式カメラマンとして、私は奉仕する機会が与えられました。そのコンサートは日本で震災の被害を受けた人達をサポートするための団体である、The Bridge, が主催したものでした。

日本人の血を引く者として、私個人の人生に深くかかわるこの催しの写真を撮ることが’出来たのは、とても心暖まることでもありました。The Bridgeは、韓国と日本のプロの音楽家から構成されているものです。彼らは去年からずっと日本国中を回って様様なベネフィットコンサートを手がけてきました。そのチャリチーコンサートを通し、災害を受けて未だその復興の途中にある人々を、財政的支援も含め、彼らは望みを持って励ましています。彼らは又韓国、日本、そした米国の人達の、垣根を超えた友情を、音楽を通して築く上げて行く事を目指しています。ロサンゼレスで行われたこのベネフィットコンサートの為に、ここ南カリフォルニアの日系社会で音楽愛好会の団体、リンクラ, も協力しました。以下に、このコンサートに参加した音楽家を名前を記載します。
