USC Graduation Portraits at University of Southern California | Eugenia

Grad season is officially here, and I’m excited to capture this incredible milestone for all of my graduation clients. For this USC graduation portrait session with Eugenia at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, we explored some of the most iconic locations across campus.

We started at the legendary Tommy Trojan, one of the most popular spots for USC graduation photos. I always recommend that my graduation clients schedule their portrait session as early as possible, as there are often long lines at famous campus landmarks like Tommy Trojan and Mudd Hall. Fortunately, there was no wait on this particular morning, allowing us to quickly capture several beautiful portraits before moving on to our next location.

Bovard Auditorium also served as a stunning backdrop for Eugenia’s USC senior photos. The rainbow-shaped arch and vintage green lamps created a timeless and elegant setting that perfectly complemented the graduation portraits. After capturing a few shots here, we continued to the USC International and Public Affairs Building. If Mudd Hall is unavailable, this location is an excellent alternative, as the symmetrical columns frame the subject beautifully and create a strong architectural composition.

Next, we photographed at Doheny Memorial Library, which offers a classic and historic atmosphere that makes University of Southern California graduation portraits feel especially timeless. Eugenia made this session even more meaningful by wearing a traditional Indonesian dress and incorporating elements of the design into her graduation stole. This thoughtful choice added a deeply personal touch to her USC graduation portrait session.

We then headed to Mudd Hall, where the early morning light created incredible conditions for photography. I had never photographed here this early before, but the soft lighting and unique shadow patterns added beautiful depth and dimension to the images. The patterned shadows are only visible during specific morning hours. We also noticed an open classroom inside Mudd Hall and took advantage of the opportunity to capture additional photos. Conveniently, “Class of 2025” was written on the chalkboard, making it a perfect setting for authentic graduation photos.

Finally, we concluded the USC graduation session at the Steps of Troy. Although the lighting was slightly harsh at this time of day, we made the most of the conditions and captured strong, memorable portraits to complete Eugenia’s University of Southern California graduation experience.

Congratulations Eugenia on graduating from the Keck School of Medicine with a Masters in Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine!
