Griffith Observatory Engagement Session | Renae and Iam

This sunset engagement session at The Griffith Observatory is one of my favorite sessions to date. What a way to end 2021 with my final session of the year! Renae & Iam met in college back in 2014. They went on a few dates at first but ended it shortly thereafter. Coincidentally, they kept encountering each other over the years. They would sometimes talk and awkwardly avoid each other since things never seemed to go further than talking to each other. However, they reconnected in 2020 and started dating officially in December of 2020. Renae lives in Ohio while Iam lives in Southern California so it’s a long-distance relationship. They talk to each other daily and cook together quite often over FaceTime. When I hear stories like this, I’m always grateful for technology to keep us connected to our loved ones. This wouldn’t have been possible in the early 2000s!

We did the engagement session on a Monday and we were surprised at how packed it was! It might have been because of the holidays and a lot of people were out and about. If you’re planning to do an engagement session here, I would recommend going the sunrise route as there are fewer people. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this summer!
